Not sure if anyone has seen this documentary, its long! I watched some at lunch at work, some at home, in between doing things so i didnt pay as close attention as i should have. Basically they took a handful of skinny kids and made them over eat. Some gained more than others, one didnt put on as much fat though he put on weight. The one thing i may have missed or didnt see is if they all got the same amount of calories and from the same macro sources. It didnt seem like it so this experiment may be flawed. Does the macro source make a difference in weight gain in over eating or was the calorie amount not constant between all subjects? Can genetics play a part? They touch on people who are fat from childhood having a harder time keeping weight off once they lose it. Is it genetics or just learned behavior of keeping weight off? Interesting to watch when you have a lot of time. What is your take of the research/documentary?

I didn't watch it as it's too long, but will later, but from your summary it sounds like bad science
Copying and pasting these two links from @rainbowbow in another thread because these are short, succinct and probably provide the answer to your questions
