Is it possible to lose weight on Depo Provera?

Hello, I am 20 years old and have been on the depo for about 3-4 years. However, I am really contemplating on stopping once the three are up in October. I was told by my doctor on my last annual this month that I have gained 5-6 pounds since last summer. I'm not sure if that is due to the depo, my lifestyle has changed or both. I currently weigh 140. I am looking too be between 125-130. My smallest was around 127 in high school. If anyone has had luck losing weight on the depo please let me know because I am really wanting to get off if it isn't possible!
