This is my first mini bulk (going about 250 cals over) - do you do it every day? Or just the days you train?
Also - if you haven't cut carbs (ie. still eat them at about 50% carbs), but your body has used up all carb stores, do you start do burn protein or fat first, and can digested protein be used as an energy source prior to protein degradation? I assume it will use digested proteins/fats as energy FIRST but I just need to make sure Im not burning up my muscle mass. I train early in the morning and don't get a LARGE carb source until evening time. I do eat carbs after my workout but I think my consumed carbs are used up by about 4pm! I need to make sure Im not burning up my muscle!
Advice? Experience?

You either bulk... or you cut.
Both need to be over an extended period of time to have a relatively large yield of results, especially a bulk because muscle building is a slow process.
You eat in a caloric surplus every day if you're bulking.
You should be eating carbs while bulking, I don't see why you wouldn't. I don't work in %'s with macros, but;- 0.6-0.8g of protein per lb of body mass
- 0.4-045.g of fat per lb of body mass
- fill rest of calories with carbs
How come you can't/don't have carbs in the morning? I highly doubt your body will start to use digested protein first; I'd assume it'd start to use some of your glycogen stores and dietary fat.

To maximize gains you should be using the extra carbs which is where a lot of those extra calories should be coming from on a bulk in your pre & post work out meals. As long as your protein is set right and assuming you hit your macros everyday your lean mass is safe.0
