Best laid plans...

THIS came today, made me really excited. Because I love doing pull-ups? No. Because I made a goal and need to train. I will, eventually, do pull-ups. The fact that it's still in the box, is a good analogy for my day today, which im calling, "The best laid plans." #spartanbeasttraining

Without getting too personal, 1xmonth my evil twin comes to town. She needs way more sleep, is weak during workouts, wants way more food, hurts during and after workouts, craves comfort and diet coke, and prefers to use her snippy voice.

Well, she's tired, and weak, and in pain, so I mostly forgive her, but I always have to determine how much to give into her.

"Today, she woke up at 430am, but begged out of the early morning workout a d went back to bed. She did, however, get in an equally brutal WO at 8am. She also helped 2 friends out with their kids (4 in all), went grocery shopping, and made a delightfully wonderful dinner for my family in lieu of some much needed nap/meditation time. She did not clean up the kitchen.

She ate more comforting fat calories than she'd normally have, but came in under her maintenance calories, still at a deficit, and plans an intermittent fast tomorrow to make sure the extra fat calories don't stunt her weekly caloric balance. She passed up her diet coke craving for her high energy super hippie dippy green drink. She had a diet coke later, maybe 2.

She went on a power walk with my friend on the beach. Rain and hail and sand pelted them. They continued further until it stopped, but they did not. She only remembers once when she used her outdoor voice, but it was with my husband and he had ear buds in, and she was talking. She plans an early 530am workout, followed by a day walking downtown Charleston tomorrow. While fasting. And drinking green drinks.

She's going to bed now. She's happy about that.

Her cgm insert just ripped out getting into bed. She just used her outdoor voice again."

We plan to succeed. We have backup plans and fail safe plans because life happens. Calories are like a checkbook, they must balance out. An overage here has to come out of somewhere over there. We always want more, but we have to balance the beast within to win. We learn. We are grateful. We recognize the good. We love ourselves and our evil twins. :)
