I'm 29 years old. I started several years ago and once I started really paying attention to what I was doing I quickly lost about 90-95 pounds, going from 350 down to 255-ish. But then life got busy (adoption, job change, interstate move, etc) and things kind of fell to the back burner. I kept running, but it got a little more scattered and my food choices got worse again (I now live in the land of Whataburger...). I just kind of coasted for almost two years, thinking the half marathons and other training runs were keeping things in check.

They weren't. I got on the scale in early June just after school got out for the summer and was shocked to see that I'd gained SIXTY POUNDS back in less than two years, up to 315. At the same time, my wife was preparing for gastric sleeve surgery, so the whole family jumped back on the wagon and we've all been steadily losing since. I'm currently at 295 with a short-term goal of getting back down to 280 before school starts back up in mid-August. My long-term goal would be to get down under 200, but we'll see what the composition of the weight looks like as we get closer.

I am a runner (a slow runner) and a teacher and would love to have a few more friends along the journey. Feel free to add me. I log in every day, log everything and even get social sometimes!
