Hey all. Just wanted to say hello from North Texas. I'm kind of new on this weight loss deal but seem to be doing ok on it.
Most of my life I have been a heavy guy. This was something that was never a problem for me. But a year ago I lost my mom who wanted me to lose weight more than anything. So in memory of her I decided to attempt to lose a few pounds. Well once I got it into my head that it was possible I have decided to do it not only for her but for myself also. So far the diet and exercise part is easy for me. It was the mental part that was so hard. By that I mean setting caloric goals is easy, getting up and doing the excersize is easy, but it was the mental attitude of "I can do this" that was the hard part.
Right now I am setting at 236.0lbs with a 38% body fat. Next summer....that will be a different story. Daily I am working on this body. I didn't get over weight over night and its going to take time to lose it, so the more consistant I am the sooner I will be at my goals.
Anyways, I hope to connect with some of you out there that have been in my shoes..good luck everyone

Welcome! I'll send you a friend request. Sorry to hear about your mom. It's great how you have chosen to honor her by living better!
