i have been drinking green tea these last few days & even when I am actually drinking it I always get a dry mouth/throat so weird!? it feels like I haven't drunk anything all day! I thought it might be cos the tea was too hot but it happens when drinking chilled green tea! doesn't happen when I drink regular tea! was wondering if anyone else has experienced a dry mouth/throat while drinking green tea? how did u cure it?

I haven't...but maybe don't drink it and see what happens...i would imagine you "cure it" by not doing it.

I'm allergic to green tea. It gives me a itchy mouth and throat. Funny thing is, I can drink black tea and white tea just fine, even though they're all the same plant. I get the same reaction whether it's a cup of tea, or something fancy like green tea creme brulee. I have a friend with the same problem. We cured it by not drinking green tea.

My husband, as part of his work, does a lot of seminars so he basically speaks all day. On these days he does not drink green tea, as it makes his mouth feel dry. Whilst peppermint tea helps his mouth/throat feel moist.
If you like green tea, maybe only drink it for taste rather than thirst or follow it with some water.

I know this is an old post but I just started getting a very dry throat feeling when I drink green tea. It's only when I swallow the tea and it feels like my throat is completely dry at the base of my throat like a cotton ball is there. I almost can't swallow. I drink decaffeinated green tea every night and it just started out of the blue. It's very odd and I've had to stop drinking it. Black tea does not do it.

I drink green tea with lemon everyday for lunch and have never experienced dry mouth afterwards.

It's because green tea is horrible puritanical superstitious hype and "superfoods" are BS.

I think this is caused by tannin ,though why there should be more in green tea than in black,I don't know!

    This sounds like an allergy.
Allergies can develop over time - so the fact you didnt have the reaction before does not rule out allergy.
Or there has been a change to the ingredients or you have swapped brands?? - and something different is the allergen

If you get unpleasant reactions like this - just dont drink it.
