Hi friends,
I am following this app to track my calorie from last one month, so far I have not lost anything instead I have gained 3 lb, super frustating. I have not used kitchen scale ( just ordered), but I know I am eating atleast 25-30 percent less what I used to eat, so my question is even if I am not tracking calorie exact accurate based on what I used to eat and what I eat now, If I am not loosing atleast should not gain. Please help me, this is demotivating me.

How have you changed your diet? Also, if you haven't been weighing your food, you're definitely eating more than you think you are. Serving sizes are VERY misleading when you eyeball it, or even when you measure it by cups rather than weight.

I would take a look at WHAT you are eating first. If you're eating 25-30% less that what you used to eat, does that mean you used to eat a whole pizza and now you only eat 1/3 of it? Not being a smartass, but I believe the general consensus is to maintain the muscle mass you have you should consume 1g of protein for each pound of bodyweight (150lbs = 150 grams x protein/day). That's a start, then if depending on your physical activity/training/general health, adjust from there and determine the total calories you need to maintain or lose weight, and figure out your carbs and fats from there. You don't want to eat 5% protein, 90% carbs, and 5% fats...

OP, don't make any drastic changes until you get the food scale. Start weighing and logging your food for a week or two to see how much you are really eating, then tweak from there.

Also body weight isn't just fat. Water weight can vary from 5-10 lbs due to hormonal fluctuations, salt intake, increased or new exercise, etc. Even when you are being perfect, your weight can fluctuate 5-10 lbs.

So hang in there, give the food scale a chance, and go from there. Good luck!
