Eating back exercise calories

I know this is a dumb question, but should you eat back your exercise calories?

If you are following the MFP NEAT method, you should eat back 50-75% of your exercise calories to compensate for any inaccuracies.

If you are following the TDEE method, you do not eat back your exercise calories.

MFP uses the NEAT method. They gave you a deficit BEFORE exercise. That way people who can't/won't exercise will still lose weight.

HOWEVER - keep in mind calorie burns are estimates. Many people eat back 50-75%. Just start with a percent, then bump it up if you are tired or run down. Eat less if weight loss is not progressing.

The purpose of this is to fuel your workouts, and keep the deficit in check. Really large deficits make it harder for your body to support existing lean muscle mass. Increase fat loss with a moderate deficit.
