How does Race for Life work with both 5k and 10k?

Hi!
The title pretty much says it. I'm doing the Race for Life 10k tomorrow. There is a 5k with the same start time. Is there 2 courses or just one? How does it work?
I get very anxious about these sorts of things and am worried I'll accidentally only do 5k!

My local Race for Life is only 5k, but there are distance markers along the way so you know how far you have run and how far you have left to go.
The route was explained to us during the warm up event, presumably they will be quite clear to explain where there are two different race distances. I also had a chat with one of the cyclists who cycle in front of the pack before the race and he explained the route to me. Might be worth speaking to a steward at the start?0
