Mini Success

I say mini success because it's not as if I'm even close to my goal, but I felt great today! I am doing a low carb diet now. All of my carbs come from vegetables, nuts, or my organic protein shake. I feel good, but I haven't had a real quantitative way to show that I'm having any success. I feel good, I think I look a bit thinner to me, and I know I'm much much stronger since I've cut out carbs - but the scale hasn't moved much.
I have been wearing a size 16 skinny jeans from Lane Bryant and Fashion to Figure. I haven't actually gone to a store to try on pants for about a year. I was waiting for a friend in a shopping center to have lunch, and I walked into American Eagle. I've never shopped there. The clothes never looked like it catered to my shape, but I was waiting so I grabbed some pants to try on. Size 14 skinny jeans fit really really well! Do I dare try to 12... OMG they went on zipped and buttoned. They were too tight (I actually hurt my back trying to squeeze into them a second time after eating) so I didn't buy them, but THEY WENT ON. From a Lane Bryant 16 to an American Eagle 12 - it's insanity. And I checked out this chart, because I always felt they were a brand that was on the smaller size. http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--BaA0ux3W--/c_fit,fl_progressive,q_80,w_636/1025933043708392550.jpg
I have made so many gains each week with weight lifting. Last week I used 15 lb dumbbells for my chest in the 12 rep range, and thing week I used 20b in a 16 rep range. And then I squeezed my behind into size 12 pants. It's the first time I felt like I was allowed to tell myself I'm doing a great job and there are results.
Thanks for letting me share!
