So far, I lost 13 lbs. THANK GOD! :) Anyways, my lower body is looking really good and toned but my upper body, not so much. Should I get a personal trainer? I have 17 more pounds to go. Thanks

It's a personal preference...you can do it on your own with a little research, or hire a trainer. If you do get a trainer, ask around, get recommendations, and be sure you find one you like whose philosophy you agree with. There are many bad trainers out there.

The trainer at the gym I go offers online training as well as in person.
He is really awesome. Really knows his stuff.
    check out his website
    www.freshevolutionfitness.com

His online training packages are slightly cheaper then in person sessions but you still get a custom program designed to fit your needs and goals

The beauty of working with a trainer is they push you harder than you would yourself and there is a range of exercises you can do with them that you probably wouldn't do by yourself. I work with a trainer acouple of sessions a week then the rest on my own with a programme they have designed to work on the areas I need help in. It's worth it even if you only have a couple each month.

I made a deal with my trainer for one session a month so she can take my measurements and adjust my programme to suit my progress. I did it this way to save money and because I feel I have the discipline to do the work on my own in between sessions. So as said before, up to you but also, shop around, get recommendations from people who look like they are going places with a trainer.

I've been a certified fitness instructor for 10 years and I still check in with a trainer every once in a while, especially if I'm getting bored or have hit a plateau or am experiencing a recurring injury that I suspect could be due to form. Went just today after a three month period of lifting on my own and did a form check...still learned a few new things! But definitely get recommendations and find someone who has been doing it a while if possible and is certified. If you take group fitness classes, ask the instructor for a recommendation. I absolutely know who to go to and who not to at the gym I teach it. I pick people who walk the walk and don't spend the entire session gossiping. You want them to be friendly but all business.

I'm a CPT and I use an online coach ( he's in Kentucky I'm in VA) Not only do I get objectivity, I also find the accountability factor to be huge. He does everything for me from my macro breakdown to my training programs.
