Question for those who have done Ripped in 30

Hello,
I started Ripped in 30 from Jillian Michaels on Sunday. Previously I completed the Chalean Extreme 90 day program. In the CLX program we only did weight work every other day so as to let muscles recover. So my question is, if I use heavier weights than Jillian (like 10 lbs) which is what would challenge me in Ripped in 30, should I still be doing it 5-6 times per week like she recommends? Or should I quit worrying about it? Or should I back down on the weights every other day and just concentrate on the cardio benefits? Any insight you all have would be much appreciated.

Hey there, i started it too but im on week 2 already, i havent used 3lbs like her ive been using 5 lb weights and surprisingly (with the exception of dead lifts) i havent felt like ive needed to increase yet (i bought a ten lb set for that reason), since you've done CLX i know you can/like to lift heavy so I think if the 10lb weight is the equivalent of the 3lb weight for you then you can still do the workouts as planned, if you find its messing you up do two days and take a break and keep repeating that. I do 3 days rest 3 days.

Hi jjkarnitz, I am like you and have experience lifting weights. I am finishing up week 4 of Ripped in 30 (last day is tomorrow) and wanted to offer you this tip. I know she doesn't say so in each day's exercise video, but she intends for you to use a light and/or heavy weight, depending on the exercises.
For example, when working smaller muscles (shoulder raises/triceps extensions) you'd use your lighter weight, when working larger muscles (chest press/bicep curls/rows) you'd use your heavier weight. After once through each workout, being familiar with weight training, I think you'll know when to go lighter/heavier.

She has said that they use the lighter weight in the video because they spend all day shooting.

    Hope this helps.

I haven't heard her say anything about which weight to use when except when she said we'd need t weights at the start. I'm on week 3.
I use 2kg (4.5lbs) weights for everything. You think that's OK?
