Hi guys.....I haven't been able to get into the forums for 2 weeks because I am out of state on vacation with no WiFi....thankfully I ambable to still log my food :) I have a week and a half left on vacation. I think I am doing pretty good. I did buy a scale for while I am here however I don't know if it is as accurate as mine at home (I am attached to my home scale) here is where I am sitting and why I am anxious... For 4 days before I left on vacation I was eating not real well...things were hectic running around getting ready. And when I got to mn the scale had me up 8 lbs (213)...I have been here in mn 2 weeks and I am as of yesterday morning at 201 ...so I lost the 8 lbs plus 4 more...was I really up 8 lbs or is this scale whacky and when I get home I will be into the 190s? I'm just not sure where I sit and no one up here owns a darn scale! Love being on vaca but I really want to know what I weigh!

Even though you're anxious to know what you weigh (and I understand), my suggestion is to not worry so much about it -- you already bought a scale to take with you, but you're not sure it's accurate, and aren't trusting the numbers -- regardless of WHAT you weigh, you have still lost. My advice is to keep doing what you're doing and enjoy your vacation!

I wouldn't weigh yourself again until you get home and get back to your normal routine for a week.
You should always use the same scale for your weight because scales vary a lot. You did not necessarily gain anything because you use a different scale.
If you weighed yourself on the new scale at the start of your vacation and you weigh less now on the same scale then you did not gain weight even if the number on the scale at home is different.

We have no idea whether the scale is wacky... Like at all. I so would leave the scale out of the vacation next time. Just think about eating reasonably while on vacation. When you get home, use a weight (e.g. 10 lb, 8 lb, whatever) to test your home scale. Then, weigh yourself...

I can not go a month with out weighing myself...that's how I put all my weight on last time...I at least need it to know I'm going the right direction. Which is basically what I am using it for....6 more days I will be home and I will see what mine says...I really wish I would have taken measurements when I started ...so when I get home I am going to take measurements and start from here. Just 6 more days!

Continue to eat well and drink your water. You know when you are having a good day and when you are not. You will be home and back on your scale soon enough. Do not let the desire of the scale distract and take away from the beauty of a vacation. That would be very foolish indeed. Take in all the beauty and good of where you are right now...the rest will work itself out when you get home! Have fun. :-)
