I'm looking into getting a large freshwater aquarium, I love colorful cichlids. I would like a salt water tank, but afraid it's too much maintenance :/

I had a 90 gallon saltwater reef aquarium a few years ago. Really enjoyed it. If I get the chance again, I will go even bigger next time.

I actually think saltwater is easier to keep. It's been my experience anyway
The sand, live rock, and scavenger cleanup crew maintain the tank
Cichlids are cool but the saltwater "fish" are really interesting

In the last year I've had some life changes that made my living space as big as an aquarium so I only have a little tank. I am on lookout for a great deal for a 120 with the stand

I have been there before. I hope to go 120 - 150 next time.

What kind of fish do you have? One of my favorite is the clown trigger.

If you are patient...you can do a saltwater tank
The longest part of setup is setting up the live sand, letting it sit, adding live rock, letting it sit...then start with cleanup crew

Hmm, I never thought of it that way, maybe I'll go with a salt water tank. :)

It is a beautiful, fascinating, educational hobby. And it doesn't take a lot of time provided you have it right set up correctly. Be warned though, that saltwater setups (everything included) are expensive.

Oh I know, but it so worth it. I'm a pet lover in general, but looking at fish swim around is very therapeutic.

I agree with you. I used to spend hours a day watching all the creatures in my tank. I also had fun propagating live coral.

I had a spotted moray eel that i used to hand feed large shrimp to. Talk about fun. Also had a banded shark, octopus, purple box puffer and many other beautiful fish and inverts.

I have a betta. He was in a centerpiece at my friend's wedding in December. His name is Bernie and he likes dried worms...

Awww very cute. I had a similar smaller freshwater puffer before. He was so interesting, if you would put your finger on the tank he would follow it. Lol.

Cool tank pics! I had a friend in college who had piranhas and groups would gather to watch the feed. But, that's fresh water I guess. That guy probably took over a third world country by now.
