struggling to meet calorie goal

Hey, so I have been on here about a week now! I am trying to change my eating habits, so far I have been doing a great job (minus a few "relapses"). MFP has set my caloric intake goal at just under 2500 a day. Before I started eating healthy, I would go to dq and other fast food and would go way over this goal. However, now that I am eating healthier, I am dealing full and nourished well under That number. Yesterday I had 3 filing and healthy meals and ended at about 1,000 calories under.
I have been doing pretty intense work outs everyday(for my fitness level/weight) and have been making sure to get at least 30g protein a day.
My question is, will it be detrimental
To be that much under the recommended calories? Because right now I am
Having a hard time actually eating that much.
On a side note, I looked up my normal meal at DQ and it was over 2,000 calories (WOW)!!!!!!!!! No more of that crap.
I have received amazing feedback and support since I've started here and really appreciate it!

David,
Welcome. I love your profile picture!
What Lifting4lis said, and don't forget about things like ice cream and other snack foods. They add calories and can be eaten in moderation as well.0 -
Is your main goal only to lose weight? I had similar issue couple years back but I wanted to tone up as well. Without enough calories and protein my body wasn't able to repair itself and build the muscle so I ended up still having thunder thighs but really skinny up top.0

Probably you are eating more that 30 grams a protein and that was a typo.
Here is a list of calorie dense foods:

Thank you all for the replies!
First off, Yeah, I am eating much more than 30 g protein a day. It is closer to 70-100g of protein a day.
My goal is to lose weight, I am already a big guy and have plenty of muscle underneath all this fat. However, I am still doing a fair amount of strength training. I would like to be able to enlist/have the ability (it be an option to enlist) in the army when I graduate college; I should graduate in just about a year. So, I would like to tone up and eventually balance my cardio and lifting.Liftng4Lis wrote: »More calorie dense foods: Nut butters, nuts, avocados, cheese.
