I say lose 5 pounds and make some smart fashion choices that make you look like you dropped an additional ten. Great? Great!0

My daughter finished her first year of college in May. She made a lot of friends, had a great time and made the Dean's list both semesters.
My husband and I were proud of her but now I realize that we shouldn't be. We should be upset with her because she had fun.0 -

I suggest you disown her. She has brought shame upon your household! I am 42 and I haven't had fun for 24 years, my parents couldn't be happier

Not only is it "bad". It's probably impossible.
Here's why...
Your current BMR is 1,395. Your maintenance calories are around 1700 per day.
You need to lose 15 pounds or 52,500 calories.
If you wanted to do that is 21 days you would need a daily calorie goal of "-800 calories".
That's 800 calories through exercise (about 2 hours on a treadmill) AND not eat anything at all.
Obviously this is dangerous, will kill you, and unnecessary. Sorry, you waited too long to try and lose it. It's fine, start your small deficit now and you should be good to go in about 3 1/2 months.
This is the bottom line

It can be done but it is stupid and unhealthy. Aim for 1-2lbs per week. Or a 10 week target?

Op work on losing a pound a week. Keep at it and before you know it the weight will be gone. Don't do anything drastic as you either get sick or just fed up and quit. Good luck and enjoy college0

Now, the girl wants to lose 15 in 3 weeks (which at her weight is kind of impossible barring the amputation of a limb) but she also is planning on having several cheat days at the same time. Talk about dissonance. Let's get real here, please!!0

It is possible but not very healthy, I lost probably 5 lbs a week but I just was not eating due to stress and exercising a little excissivly, I dropped the weight so quick it scared my wife and doctor. Also when I was in boot camp I probably lost that much that quick, but I was overweight and in boot camp if your eyes are open your moving, with a 40lb ruck sack on your back lost about 75 lbs in 8 weeks.0

It is possible albeit not healthy at all for your body. I wouldn't recommend doing that. It is better that the weight come off at a slower, steadier pace, than in such a fast manner.0

OP, I have your stats. It took me 4 months to lose 15 lbs of scale weight and obviously once I started maintaining, I gained the weight water all back so basically 15 lbs lost turns into 10-12lbs actual loss that I maintain now.0

most people gain weight when starting college. its likely if you start now you will just gain back anything that you lost. maybe you want to go to college get settled in and then start to be focused on a weight loss goal.0
