I've been really interested in IIFYM as of late. Sadly Fitocracy's Macro app isn't available for Android yet, I had to go for something else. But what's the difference between the two ? Is one better than the other ? Does it even make a difference ?

Marks, set go !

AND THEY'RE OFF.

I'm not sure what the difference is in the formula exactly. However, here's my little comparison of the 2:

    Mifflin: 2310
    Harris: 2429
    Observed*: 2400-2500

*Observed = I keep a spreadsheet that compares intake to what I lost to give me an estimated TDEE. That's the current range it fluctuates in the majority of the time.

    Edit: found this-

Harris is based on research done in 1919 and Mifflin is based on research done in 1990.

Harris tends to be inaccurate as it doesn't really reflect today's sedentary lifestyle. Mifflin is more accurate for the general population. Katch is more relevant to bodybuilder and athletes who are very lean and have accurate body fat %
