Net Calories

So, throughout this year I lost a lot of weight by not eating or eating next to nothing. It became a big part of my life. No one seemed to notice, but I knew that it wasn't healthy. I wanted to be healthy. I came to MFP to make sure I stay on track although, I've been having a problem. I feel like a failure if my net calories are more than 500. So, I wanted to know what other people tend to have as their net, that allows them to lose weight.

When you set up your account, MFP gave you a calorie allotment. The healthy thing to do is use that number as your NET. Netting 500 calories consistently is dangerous and unhealthy. Over time, this could do things to you like weaken bones and cause you to lose hair (not to mention feeling like crap). I lost more than 70 pounds by netting 1500 calories or more, and am at my desired weight, wearing a size 4 pants. I am at maintenance and STILL eat approximately 1800 calories a day. PLEASE rethink your weight loss strategy - eating so little will only hurt you in the long run.
