Don't do anything to try to compensate for the binge. So don't restrict your food intake drastically, and don't go out and try to do a ton of exercise to make up for binging. That just creates the cycle of restricting, getting super hungry, binging, feeling bad about it, and trying to compensate by restricting again, which just starts the whole cycle over again.

Figure out how many calories you need to meet your goal, whether it's losing, maintaining, or gaining weight, and then start trying to eat around that many calories each day. When you binge - I say when, not if, because slip ups are inevitable, especially if you've been doing it for a long time - so when you have a binge, work really hard to go right back to the calorie plan you were following.

If this is really becoming a problem for you, it may be best to see a professional who can help you deal with it. Your doctor could give you a referral to a registered dietitian or therapist who has experience working with disordered eating patterns.
