Does too much fruit make you gain

i read somewhere online that fructose causes fat gain. Some studies suggest that fructose ingestion leads to insulin resistance, elevated blood cholesterol levels and increased fat gain. I don't necessarily eat a lot of fruit but I would like to . I was thinking of actually eating more fruit.

Too many calories makes you gain. That's pretty much it. Today I have had an apple, a banana, strawberries and I'm having a bit of watermelon before bed. That's typical of every day for me.0

So I guess it's okay thanks0

Agree!!! Too much food makes you gain, it's the no sugar fruit loops spreading this info!!! I still stand by 100cals of fruit is a better choice than 100cals of bacon!!0 -
Fruit is all natural sugar so I'd say no. It's good for you!!!0

I feel better when I hear from people with experience . Knowing you all eat a good amount of fruit and it doesn't cause weight gain is enough for me .0

Eat more fruit if you want to, as long as you are eating within your calorie deficit. You don't need to worry about insulin resistance unless you already have a health problem.
You should be weighing all of your solid foods so you know the calories accurately.

Not only does fresh fruit not cause weight gain when eaten in quantities within your allowable calories, it does not cause insulin resistance. The fiber in the fruit slows the absorption of the fructose into the bloodstream so that the liver doesn't have to go into overdrive to handle a big dump of sugar into the bloodstream. Fructose in juice is another story because the fiber has been removed. If you want a better understanding of how it works, read through the faqs on this site about the Glycemic Index Scale, a system developed in Australia after 30 years of research into diabetes:

I've lost over 60lbs i run 4.5 miles a day and weight train. I eat a banana an apple x2 blueberries or Strawberries in a smoothie every day sometimes more. You just have to remember to count the calories in your fruit as a calorie is a calorie0

Fruit is not 'super high carb' the word 'fruit' describes 100's if not thousands of different types! Bananas have a higher carb value than raspberries, apples are higher than tomatoes.....just log your entries stick to your macros and remember the valuable fibre and nutrients you are getting from nature. Too many people are not getting enough fibre in there diet and the consequences can be deadly! The staple of your diet should come from veg and fruit.....and not to mention it's very very yummy!! Grab a handful of frozen berries when you have a sweet tooth craving instead of a chocy bar! Or on a hot day freeze some banana and dip the ends in chocolate for an icecream treat!....keeps the kids happy as well! Just remember to log it and say within your macros and your gut will be healthier and happier for the extra fibre!0 -

Carb dont make you gain weight
Eating surplus does.
Carb can be not good for you if you have certain medical problems
But still ...only eating too much calories ( surplus) makes you gain weight.

Fruits and veggies have vitamins and minerals that your body needs. If you don't get them from fruits and veggies, where do you get them?? They have carbs, including fiber, which does a body good. Your body requires sugar, so getting it from fruits and veggies - it's a good place to get it!
Eat your fruits and veggies. They're low-cal and good for you.0 -

carbs don't make you gain weight. Eating too many calories does.
Eating too much of any particular thing isn't really a good idea; a good diet should be well rounded, with a good balance of carbs, protein, and fats. Once your macro balance is met, fill out your calorie goal with whatever you like. If that's fruit, go for it.
Remember fruit it a huge category, including both sweet and savory foods, so don't get hung up on the worry about sugars and carbs.0 -
Too much
Insert food of choice
Causes weight gain
Fruit is kind of yummy...
I can over eat me some dried cranberries and mixed nut trail mix!
Not the fruit's fault though....0 -

Just out of morbid curiosity, why do you post each phrase or sentence of your replies as a separate line?0
