Small Meals

I have also heard that eating smaller meals throughout the day is best other than eating 3 meals a day. I'm stuck in the mindset of eating breakfast lunch and dinner. Can someone give me examples of what you eat during the day and about when you eat them?

I eat one moderate meal, usually about 300-400 calories, around 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. then one big meal with a small dessert, about 800-1000 calories around 8-9:00 p.m. during the work week when I'm at my desk all day.

On the weekends I eat higher calories and usually a small brunch around 11:00 - noon and a big dinner in the eveing (somewhere between 7:00-10:00 p.m.), or sometimes a big meal around 2-3:00 and a small meal at night.

I eat smaller meals. I don't feels stuffed when I'm done. I don't get hungry. It's easier to work on a bigger variety of food when it doesn't all have to be eaten together. I feel better without a big, heavy meal. I like the constant flow. :)

It's better for me, but that doesn't make it better for you. If you like the B-L-D thing, stick with it! If you like it, it's better for you. :)

Eating smaller meals throughout the day has no benefit unless it helps you stick to your plan better. There's nothing wrong with eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

It has been shown that meal frequency has no relation to weight loss/gain. It makes no difference if you eat 6 meals or 1 meal a day.
    What matters is total calories.
Can read up on intermittent fasting, as the research covers this topic. True " starvation mode" does not happen until around the 28 hour mark in a fast ( no food).
So eat according to your goals and convenience.

For me eating smaller meals throughout the day worked against me since I wound up eating more calories. For me something that is 200 calories is not a meal. I eat breakfast, snack-y lunch, dinner, dessert. But I eat all that in an 8-9 hour window because I can't eat when I wake up, I just can't. I eat generally at 11a, 3p, 7p and 9p.

For some eating the small meals during the day works, but I'm not one of those people.

Neither is better than the other. I eat 2 meals a day and am quite lean. Decide what you prefer and go with that. For me 2 meals is most convenient
