Calories v macros

I only keep to my calorie allowance, I don't track my macros. ...does that matter...

    not so much really...

    calories are a unit of energy...your body is a machine, and calories are the energy that fuel that machine...so they are what matter most where weight management is concerned.

    it can be beneficial to at minimum be aware of your macros as they can help you balance out your nutrition...balanced diet and all of that...they also play a bigger role in body composition and fitness performance.

    Calories are king for weight loss.

    Macros help with other things, like health, mood, energy levels, muscle retention, etc. You can track them if you want but it's not required for weight loss (barring medical issues).

    But I think it's important to note that MFP's default numbers are just one possible suggestion. There are tons of ways that you can set your macros and still reach your goals.
