Supposed to be eating a 1500 calorie diet with 50 protein / 40 carbs / and 10 fat.
Please give suggestions. I am having a terrible time trying to reach these numbers and it's messing with my confidence.

10% fat seems low. Where did you get this suggestion from? Did your doctor suggest this?

It's really hard to meet this fat% considering even vegetables get about 10% of their calories from fat.

I thought it was low as well. I see a norm is closer to 40/40/20 spit. My trainer gave me the goals but I have yet to reach it. Any suggestions for even a 40/40/20 range? I am brand new to this and don't get it (yet).

Well, if you track and log your food for a week or so, then come back here with your food diary unlocked, people can give you suggestions.

What seems to be difficult right now? Eating at 1500 calories? Getting enough protein? Keeping fat that low?

Not getting enough protein and too much fat. I'm determined to make this work - it can't be that hard, I'm just new at it. *Thanks for your comments.

Chicken breast and tuna -- among others -- can go a long way toward protein goals with relatively little fat.

What are you eating now that has a lot of fat?

Adding more lean chicken, lean beef, protein powder, beans, lentils, TVP, fat free dairy (milk, cottage cheese, greek yogurt), etc. can add protein without adding fat.

Lean, white meat, tuna, eggs (whites only gives you less fat), low or no fat dairy and tofu are all good sources for protein.

Lowering fat is easily done by looking at your diary and cutting back on (or cutting out) the high-fat stuff.

If you focus on eating healthy food, with an emphasis on lower fat, you'll do fine. Fruits, veggies, low or no-fat dairy, whole grain breads and lean, white meats. :)

You might want to have a longer conversation with your trainer about this. How does he/she suggest you meet those numbers? What are some actual meals that would fit into the macro profile the trainer has provided? Hopefully the trainer wants to see you succeed so would be willing to help you to better understand the suggestions he/she has made. And if you aren't getting that feeling from the trainer.... get a new trainer! :)
