Total Daily Energy Expenditure...it is the calories that would be required for you to maintain given your stats and activity level...with that activity level including all of your daily activity and exercise. To lose weight you would cut calories from your TDEE...so like I require about 2,800 calories to maintain my weight...that is my TDEE...I cut 500 calories from that number and I lose about 1 Lb per week.
MFP uses NEAT (Non Exercise Activity Thermogenesis) for which the activity level only includes day to day hum drum...exercise is NOT included in a NEAT activity level and is thus an "extra" activity when performed. You account for exercise activity with the NEAT method by logging it and earning those extra calories for extra activity.0 -
