I have been hearing quite a bit about HIIT lately. I tried a variation on the elliptical this morning and I LOVE the fact that it keeps me engaged throughout the entire workout. Anyone done a HIIT program long term and enjoy it?

I love HIIT! I do a variety of HIIT workouts 3 times a week. Definitely one of the best ways to jump start your metabolism

I do 10 minutes of HIIT after every lifting session, so 5x/week. I don't do cardio machines, but I typically do intervals of exercises like jump squats, burpees, jumping jacks, high knees, etc.

It's nice to get a decent calorie burn out of a short period of time, especially if you dislike cardio as much as I do. Steady state is incredibly boring to me, and running just isn't going to happen. I get a lot of my ideas from a year of doing Fitness Blender workouts, but now I just design my own.

Remember that the term HIIT has kinda been bastardized and has been being used for anything that is basically interval training.

Yeah I'm really wanting a vigorous workout and was wondering if I can use this type of training tailored for beginners to at least get me going in the right direction.
