What gets better results, 3-10 minutes or 1-30 minute workout?

Is it true that doing 3 separate 10 minute workouts a day gets the same end results as doing 1-30 minute workout a day? I've heard both ways and am wondering?

Like everything else, it's a matter of opinion. During the week and my weekends of I get it all in at one time, on the weekends i have to work, I do 20 minutes at a time. Here's the CDC guidelines for adults

Short workouts won't do much to build up your endurance. They have their place, but longer workouts will ultimately help you work out with more intensity.0

The best results come from whichever one you would rather not do...
Seriously, just do what you can given your schedule and flexibility.
I have gotten better results pushing through longer training sessions.

What will you be most consistent at? I started with 3 - 20 minute workouts a week. I knew I could keep that goal. Then as I got used to it (normal part of a schedule....a habit) I bumped it up to longer workouts, more days. Worked toward a goal.
Most of your weight loss is going to come from eating less. You won't burn enough calories in 30 minutes to matter much.

your weight loss is going to be largely attributable to your diet...not if you exercise 3x for 10 minutes or 1 time for 30...that's pretty much completely and utterly irrelevant.
beyond that, fitness goals (not weight loss goals) should help you dictate what you should be doing.0 -

I wanted more than mere weight loss...
There is no way I was ever going to reach my goals just exercising.

The one that will get you "better results" is the one that fits your schedule and that you'll do consistently.
Personally I find it easier to allocate one block of time to go for a run or a ride, when I'm done I'm done. Another less but very practical consideration is laundry. Do you want to be washing 2 or 3 sets of workout clothes every day?

What can you see yourself doing long term and what activities do you enjoy? Identify this and tailor your training accordingly. You are developing good habits by introducing small changes which will have dramatic effect over a long period of time. Focus on this more so than losing weight. Your weight will come off as you eat within your goals and exercise - as long as you are in a caloric deficit.
Note that in 90% of reported cases of weight loss success (those who have successfully lost weight and kept it off longer than 1 year) a consistent exercise regimen of 30-60mins/day.0 -
Weight loss happens first and foremost in the kitchen. ..the exercising helps though
My thoughts are:
For a 3 years now I faithfully work out for an hour each morning, it started with interval training then progressed to running. ...then how I worked out changed slightly, due to an app that rewards my fitness with vouchers which encouraged several shorter workouts during the day the weight just dropped off me. And I wasn't even really trying as I've happily been maintaining my weight for a few years.
So there must be something scientific about shorter bursts of exercise being effective as that's how I've found it.
