i'm in the same boat - just diagnosed 2 weeks ago. I've been here before too. My doc has prescribed Metformin in the past, this time I want to do it on my own.. she's given me 2 months to show that I can before I go back for blood tests again. I'm determined!! For me, it's cutting down on my carbs, sugars, getting in the right amount of protein (higher than i was!) and exercise. I started about a week ago. Would be glad to join you in this fight! Amy
