Calorie deficit help

I've read a lot of topics for calorie deficit but i don't understand how it really works. (or my mind just keeps messing with me!)
These are my goals provided by MFP.
Calories Burned
From Normal Daily Activity 2,300 cal/day
Net Calories Consumed*
Your Daily Goal 1,800 cal/day
Daily Calorie Deficit 500 calories
Projected Weight Loss 1 lb/week
So if i take 1500cal/day without any workout or exercise and my daily goal is 1,800/day, i would have a calorie deficit of 300cal? And if i take 1800cal/day now WITH exercise, my calorie deficit is now 500? i usually workout 4times a week for 2 hours. Am i doing this correct? Lol. Thanks for answering in advance!

You're supposed to eat 1800 a day. That's a deficit of 500 from the 2300 you use without exercise.
If you exercise and log 300 calories you should eat 2100 that day (MFP will adjust the Daily Goal upwards)
Both of these give you a deficit of food intake compared to expenditure of 500 cals/day.0 -

so if i exercise and log 300 calories, and ate 2100 calories, i would still have a calorie deficit of 500?0 -

Correct.
You use 2300 plus exercise
so 2300 + 300 of exercise = 2600, minus the 2100 you ate = 500 deficit.0
