Food cravings after sports injury

(This isn't a question about weight loss/weighing, measuring and logging food, as I've been maintaining my GL since April)

I tore the meniscus of my right knee about 5 weeks ago, and after 4 weeks of PT surgery seems the only way to go at this point.

For the past 3 weeks or so I've been craving meat. I've been a pescatarian since 1987, and went back to eating meat for a short period of time in 2008/2009 but haven't eaten any land animal since then.

Was wondering if anyone else experienced something like this after a sports injury? I'm thinking my body is probably craving protein in order to try to heal itself. I just can't stop thinking about a juicy bacon cheeseburger! hahahahaha

I have no idea, but why not eat some protein and see if the craving goes away?
