Hi. My name is del. I'm really wanting to try intermittent fasting and was wondering has anyone else done it? I've done some research online and I think the leangains one would work best for me, however, I'm struggling to find information regarding diet and trainings plans whilst doing it. I would really appreciate and help and advice, thanks.

It seems you didn't read into intermittent fasting enough... it's an eating protocol; not a diet.

You eat whatever you want within the given time periods. You eat in a caloric deficit or surplus.

You do whatever sort of exercise you want.

As the above poster said, there is no training plan, there is no diet. It is not a system for weight loss but simply an alternative method of when to consume your calories.

There is an intermittent fasting group on here. Perhaps give that a read.

Yeah I get that. I never suggested for a instance it was a diet plan. However there must surely be an optimum time to train? Is it when fasted or not etc and simlarly what macros are you having and how are these spilt or does it not matter? Going of what you guys have said I could eat 2400 calories worth of jelly beans and lift weights at In the middle of my sleep.

The group is the best place for this as there are far more knowledgeable people there.

Things I do know. Training times are individual. Some people find it better to train fasted. Others do better in. Fed state. This you will have to practice and work out.
What kind of fast is also very individual. Some work well on 5:2, others do 16:8. You're going to have to try each version to see which suits you.

Diet is all up to you. You can follow what ever plan you want. Gummy bears will give you the benefits if fasting but if you're looking to also bulk up you need to find out what diet works for that and fit it into IF.

The point here is IF does not have diet goals. You need to work out your diet goals and fit that into IF.

So if you're looking to cut with IF that's what you should be asking. Otherwise it's a bit like asking what dog should I get for my aunt and not providing any further details.

Cool. At the moment I just wanted information on dieting and training that works well with this type of eating pattern. I wasn't certain if it suited a particular goal better ie bulking or cutting etc Thank you for your help : )

IF is about timing. Everyone has their own goals within that. I eat mostly vegetarian and do the 18:6. I workout in the afternoons and come back home to eat two meals.
