Kind of I think its because they know theres a reason why some people fare better than others and thats down to genes. Some people ahve better skin, so im not sure its such a kop out.

Wouldn't rate of gain affect your skin's ability to bounce back as well?

I've been heavy my whole life and steadily climbed to 250lbs by the time I was 15. At that time my mental health took a massive hit and I ended up housebound. This resulted in me gaining 100lbs in just over a year (due to doing nothing but sleeping and eating). Fast forward 6 years and I went up and down but peaked at 380ish.

When I got to around 320 I started having issues with my abdominal skin sagging and giving me rashes from walking/sweating. Now that I am 286lbs I don't notice my stomach hanging quite so much. It doesn't bother me like it was anyway.
That being said, I have a ton of white stretch marks. All down my arms and elbow creases, even on my shoulders.
I find it hard to believe that my skin on my arms, stomach and upper/inner thighs will ever fully bounce back. Does having stretch marks not mean that your skin is damaged?

I do agree OP that having saggy skin is much better than having it filled with fat! For me, anyway.

"Genetic" is what doctors/people say when the answer is "I have no idea."

Sometimes it means that it was passed down through your genes, but usually, it means, "We have no clue." :)

    Ditto "idiopathic."

    gotcha, thanks! Always wondered
