Consider a lifestyle change, instead of continuing to put yourself in the hamster ball time, and time again.0

Then don't have cheat days.0

Are you asking how not to hate yourself, or how now to pig out?0 -
Either stop having cheat days or don't make such a big whup out of them. It's okay to overeat a little once in a while. Just undereat once in a while, too. Or add more exercise.
Figure out a plan that doesn't make you upset and go with that.
No reason to get all upset about eating! Do whatever makes you happy. If you're not happy, then what is the point?0 -

I don't have cheat days. But I do have planned higher days. I know that I will probably eat 2500+ calories on my dad's birthday. With the exercise I will likely do that day, my maintenance is somewhere under 2000. If I was maintaining (still 2 pounds from goal!), I would eat at a deficit for a few days beforehand.
Maybe it's a nomenclature thing, I just think the idea that you're "cheating" is dumb.0 -

I don't get this. What are you cheating? If you're maintaining, you're not eating too much even with a cheat day, so what is the problem exactly?0

I do not think of any form of lifestyle change or dieting as cheating in any form.0

All sounds a bit stressful tbh, not really a fan of the self hating thing. Eat dont eat, but if you do enjoy it.0

Is your cheat day an all out binge day? If so, I would not think that it would work well for your long term maintenance. Just my opinion but I can imagine that if you hit a stressful point or got somehow sidetracked, you'd increase the binges and just end up feeling disgusted with yourself and go into a spiral. I'd just incorporate treats daily and not have 'off the rails' days. I may have got it wrong and if it's just a day where you go over by a few hundred calories just spread it out over your other days and don't feel guilty in any way. Like others, I don't cheat...sometimes I eat more but it's not cheating.0

This.
Also:Eat dont eat, but if you do enjoy it.
If you are finding that you unintentionally have days in which you go way off plan, maybe try to make your plan a little more sustainable for you.0 -
I dont have cheat days because I end up regretting it.0
-
If you hate them then stop having them. Why are you doing things you don't like or can't sustain?0
-
lol yeah, thats waterweight you gain and itd come off by itself after your workout days so dont worry about that0

It seems like you hate yourself because you feel like you've lost control. So, establishing a little structure and planning around your cheat foods would really help you. Instead of a cheat day, plan a cheat meal where you eat less all day UNTIL your cheat meal. This way, you're still in control of your calorie intake for the day and can also enjoy your cheat foods.0
