    Yep!!

It's winter here, and I'm struggling to finish a 1 litre bottle of water everyday.

    Yesterday I had:

    200 ml unsweetened pineapple juice
    300 ml white coffee
    300 ml white coffee
    375 ml mineral water x 4
    300 ml white coffee
    330 ml Hawthorn Pilsener

    Tasty hydration for the win!

    And yes, I pee a lot! /tmi

You don't necessarily need 8 glasses of water a day. There isn't a magic amount of water that every human needs. A lot of factors go into how much water an individual needs.

I also don't believe we would have evolved in such a way that if we followed our thirst signals we'd be chronically dehydrated. That just makes no sense.

So I wouldn't get too stressed out about hitting this arbitrary target each day.

This is a standard amount, not necessarily what you need & especially depending upon physical activity, heat waves, etc., is what actually will determine your needs; at any moment rather than even a day. Also don't forget that a potion of that 8 cups, include what you consume; when you eat pasta and/or even drink soda. I believe that it's best to 1 drink when you know that your thirsty & 2 monitor the color of your urine. If it's nearly clear, you're good; with what your already consuming. If it's yellowish, you either need to increase your intake or it's because of food coloring. Otherwise don't over consume & overwork your kidneys, that isn't healthy. Too much of anything/everything positive, is always negative; monitoring & moderation is the key.

I have a water bottle that holds 3 cups. All I need to do is drink 3 of those and I'm dandy and it's not intimidating. Good luck!

I too struggle with hydration! I went out and got myself a lovely purple 1L water bottle that I take everywhere I go. I drink two of those a day and bam, hydrated! At first I also set a cell phone alarm every 2 hours reminding me to drink water. It sounds silly, but it totally worked. After about a month it was a habit. Good luck, you can do it :)
