What one item or thing has helped you the most on your weight loss journey?

Options
I was just wondering what one item, tool, gadget, etc.. has helped you succeed the most on your weight loss journey?

For me, it's my food scales. I don't think I could be successful without them. Sometimes I'm saddened by how little some portion sizes actually are & other times I'm pleasantly surprised. Without a scale. I'd either overeat (which is obviously not good), or I'd short myself & log calories that I didn't even eat. Weighing my food definitely keeps me in check!!

So what helps you the most?

Knowledge. Without it I would be sitting here covered in It Works wraps and drinking some crappy herbalife shake.

Honesty is the thing that most helped me to succeed. Nothing helped until I became honest with myself.

Great answers & yes, knowledge is most certainly the key! I am sooooooo against diet pills & all the diet gimmicks that so many people fall for. Calories in vs.calories out... very simple concept to understand, yet so many people are clueless!

Besides MFP, my fitness tracker. Started with a BodyMedia armband, now have a Garmin Vivoactive.

I don't have a fitness tracker, but plan on getting one this week. I can definitely see how much motivation they'd be to get me moving more!

Not giving up. Lots of failing, lots of trying again.

I want to be healthy more than I want to be fat and eat yummy and/or easy foods, so I keep working at it.

Stereotypes about how females are weak and of course MFP - I can keep track of my calorie intakes while working out to prove that females aren't weak and men aren't the only ones who can be strong.
