Hi : )
I have my wedding on december 21st this year. This is exactly 20 weeks from 03. August 2015.
Because I gained 15 kgs (30 pounds or more) due to the pill, which I stopped taking, I would like to lose all the weight until 21st of december.
I made a plan. I already eat very healthy, even when I gained weight it was just from shitloads of rice and potatoes, the rest is just fruits, vegs and meat, some nuts and dark chocolate. Yes, I gained weight from healthy food eating 3000 calories a day.....
So....
I will eat 1200 a day
And exercise 4 times a week to burn at least 350-400 calories pro session.
Once a week I allow myself to eat some junk if I want, but this happens generally no more than once a month.
I am 5 ft 6 and my perfect weight for a small frame is 125 pounds.
I hate gyms-they are too boring for me, thats why I go to tae bo classes or just run outside, do some DVDs...
Do you think my plan will work? I definitely have the motivation to stick to it because I DONT like the way my body looks. It is just not me.

I also committed to food preparation twice a week (like the bodybuilders) and made menus which contain approximately 50% carbs 25% protein and 25% fat a day for the 1200 cals.
I will eat 4 times a day, each meal 30 carbs, 10g fat, 23 protein, but sometimes I decided just to mix and match like this:
Sample menu:
1) 350g strawberries
2) 200g chicken breast (raw measured), 1 tbsp olive oil, 350 g broccoli
3) 50 g(dry) red lentils with cilantro and 14 halves walnuts, some fresh herbs
4) mixed fresh veggies (about a pound), 100 g salmon, 25 g brown rice
or :
1) 7 apricots
2) 200 g turkey breast, 1 tbsp olive oil, 350 g broccoli
3) 50 g white beans (dry), spinach and 1/4 avocado
4) 100 g extra lean ground beef with veggies, 1 apple

If you have a normal, healthy body, I think that 1200 will be too low to power through the workouts.
I also know that brides-to-be are famous for crash dieting because they want to be thin in the wedding pictures.
I don't think anything will sway you from this path, but I'd advise you to follow what MFP recommends and at least eat half the exercise calories.
I wish you luck on your crash diet! But if it fails, don't give up! Just tweak it. Eat sensibly and give it another go.

Don't over-complicate this! Find your calorie deficit by putting your stats into MFP, and then eat under that calorie limit. (Also, the pill didn't make you gain weight. Eating above your maintenance calories made you gain.)
Eat foods you enjoy. Exercise for fitness & to feel good, but it's not necessary for weight loss.

Thanks for the reply! Hm, you think this is crash dieting? I don't want to crash diet : D I just made the math that I need to lose 105.000 calories to look like I looked all my life before I got this fat last year ( I am 5 ft 6 and 72 kilos I think this is 154 pounds or so) : ( very sad story. SO 105.000/20 is about 5250 weekly, which is a bit less than 2 pounds of fat weekly. Since I prefer my deficit to come from food and can exercise only 4 times a week for about 45 to 60 minutes, I calculated that I can only reach this number if I eat around 1200 calories a day. I don't care if I lose a bit less. I just want to be fit forever and never ever Ever have to be this big again.
So I will sustainable weight loss with a bit of a priority for my wedding, since my boyfriend made me a proposal 3 weeks ago.

30 pounds in 20 weeks, starting from just 155 going to 125? That seems aggressive. The question probably is, how much fat do you want to lose, and how much lean body mass do you want to lose? Because it seems like you'll lose a lot of lbm by trying to drop the weight this fast, and you may not like how you look in your wedding dress.
At your weight, 1 pound per week is probably best right now, and the last 10 should probably be .5 pounds per week. That's 40 weeks, not 20. Plus, aren't you going to be busily planning the wedding (and getting stressed out at the same time)? You may want to try to take it easy. Aim for losing 20, and I would imagine a well-fitted dress will hide the remaining 10.

I felt very hungry and emotional from the pill, got acne and I definitely felt the need to eat like a horse. Sorry, its true. Okay, I will consider your advise!
Do you really think this 1200 diet is a fad? I took a look at the mfp numbers and they are not much different: 1300 calories a day.0 -

I gained weight while eating healthy foods too so I feel the pain. I found that going from eating 3000+ calories a day to 1500 was exceptionally difficult... I raise it to 1800 a day and it was a lot easier to eat in a deficit.0

Thanks! Okay this makes sense. I definitely don't want to risk my diet and binge hmmmm. I also want to go to work and be productive...
I also don't have much time to try different things and I definitely want to start moving in the right direction and buy beautiful clothes again, not just once that hide my "curves"
Okay if I eat 1600 calories a day (and maybe from time to time a bit less) and exercise 4 times for 600 calories each I will have a 3800 cals (a pound of fat) weight loss a week, around 76 000 till 21st december. Maybe I will get to 132 pounds or so till the wedding. This is probably also okay. Is this a "crash"?0 -

You need to do what works for you. Get rid of the "diet" idea - remember that you said you want to be fit (I assume this means at a healthy weight) forever.
Did you put your stats into MFP with the goal of losing 1 pound per week?0 -
If MFP gave you 1300 calories, when you exercise, you need to eat some of those calories back, or your deficit will be too large and you'll be losing lean muscle.
Buy a food scale and weigh all of your solid foods and measure all of your liquids. Don't think of this as some massive charge to lose weight for your wedding - that's not how weight loss works. It's not some short-term destination. If you think of it that way, you're setting yourself up for potential failure, and long-term regaining.
learn how to eat in moderation, where you are enjoying your food everyday, eating your macronutrients in a good balance, and still eating in a calorie deficit. This is how you lose weight. Once you near your goal weight, you move into maintenance, and you've made a lifelong shift that works. You're comfortable with food and eating, and still able to control how your eating affects your weight.

According to this calculator from the Baylor College of Medicine, a 5'6" 22yo female who weighs 135 lb would
have a BMI of 21.8 and need 1660 cal/day if she were INACTIVE. So 1200 is really low, esp. if you're going to
be exercising. If you'd aim for even 1400 or 1500 per day, and not eat your exercise calories, you'd lose weight.
The calculator also tells how many servings of various foods to eat to maintain a weight.

My experience was that eating back exercise calories led to my not loosing weight as easily. So I'm curious to see if someone can post up an article about it or not.

Thanks. I do bodyweight training, just this muscle trend and lifting weights is not my thing. I personally prefer cardio classes, spinning, bodyweight DVDs.
125 pounds is the weight I always was without problems and I really want to be skinny (fit) again. I like thin looking girls, that have curves and are not anorexic.
I said I do blame the calories - 3000 a day from potatoes and rice and not from pizza or other unhealthy food, so I DO believe in calories.
Thank you for your tips I will check the articles out and maybe up my calorie intake to about 1500-1600 and burn more.

And yes, that plan can work, and I'd also encourage you to just consider using the MFP recommendations of losing 1 pound per week, and once you reach your goals, maintain.
Most who lose weight gain it all back, so don't look at the wedding as the end but a new beginning for yourself in your journey toward weight management as well as marital happiness.

My experience was that eating back exercise calories led to my not loosing weight as easily. So I'm curious to see if someone can post up an article about it or not.
No, that's legit. Think about it in terms of net calories...your goal is actually for NET, so if you burn 400, you have to EAT 1600 total in order to net 1200 calories.
The problem is usually that MFP and exercise machines overestimate calorie burns by quite a bit, so if you eat back 100% of that inflated number, you're overeating without knowing it. I started out at eating back about 50% and use a heart rate monitor for steady state cardio to get a more accurate burn. That way, I can eat back at least most of the burn and keep my body fueled for working out.
@skinnyfitmella - I'm impressed with your understanding of how you gained weight, and rather than blaming the pill, you know you ate too much. You're far ahead of a lot of people by figuring that out. It's great to have a plan, but as some have said, 1200 is pretty low for you. The reason 1200 comes up is that it's the minimum considered "safe" for females, but if you're taller or exercising, it's REALLY low. You were smart to ask. I like that you tried entering for a slower loss because you will lose less lean mass that way and look healthier at 132 than you would have at 125. Overall, my advice is DONT RUSH. The best thing you can do is set yourself up for success. Read the links posted above and look at the 1600 range you said MFPS gave you. 0.5 lb to 1 pound a week is much more appropriate and realistic because you don't have a ton of weight to lose. As I stated, one of my early derailments occurred when I overreached. I finally absorbed the simple notion of net calories and a -500 daily deficit to lose 1 pound per week. That's when I was able to soar in my results.
I lost 100 pounds over 2 years and have maintained for 3 years.

I weigh 123 lbs, and I'm 5'7" tall. I started at 150 lbs. It took me a year and a half to get from 150 to 123, sticking to calorie deficit, with weighing all foods, and working out an average of 5-6 days per week.0 -
