Treated myself and went over

I treated myself today. I ate a cheeseburger topped with cheese and onions. I estimate I went over maintenance calories by 500-700. I usually eat 1800 calories a day to maintain. I'm not looking to lose weight. If I don't work out tonight will this affect my weight?

You'll probably see a bit of a bump, but probably nothing out of the ordinary if you have a specific range you're staying within. That's only .2 pounds.0

I'm maintaining right now and went over by a similar number of calories yesterday. I'm up something like 1.5 pounds since Thursday and I've been eating out more than usual so my sodium intake has been through the roof. It should all come off within the upcoming week if I stick to my usual foods.
Don't worry about it, especially if you do see a jump on the scale. Some people are more sensitive to higher sodium than others, and you may not even see an increase at all.
Consistently overeating is what causes issues - your one-time indulgence won't do harm

This is why I PLAN to eat about 700 calories over maintenance every Saturday. It's not that hard to shave off 100 calories here and there during the week. You can do the same this week to fix it up a bit.0
