Thank you, MFP.

Before I started MFP, I was so clueless about how this was all supposed to go. Today, a few co-workers commented on how they could tell I was losing weight. It was flattering until they bombarded me with the things that they thought were "facts" about weight loss.
One said she tries to burn at least 900 calories on the elliptical and how she never eats them back because that just didn't make sense to her. The other said, you have to exercise to lose any weight.
I looked at both of them after they were finished and I said, "I've lost 11 pounds from eating right and walking at both of my 15 minute breaks. I'm full and I don't feel stressed out about going to the gym." They both looked pretty dumbfounded.

So, again, I am thankful for MFP because I might be taking their advice otherwise. I'd surely give up if I thought I had to burn 900 calories every night.

  • Yes, if the eliptical was mandatory, I would have given up too!

I don't think I could have survived if I couldn't lose weight just by eating right and walking. Walking has been wonderful, and it feels like an enjoyable stress-relieve (which in turn, helps with my diet) rather than an obligation.
