Hey Paaals!

Sooo i started the INSANITY program on June 3rd.
I have really been going strong (insanity workout - pm + 30day shred or outdoor running in the am) the first 2 weeks (lost 7lbs the 1st week, gained 3lbs the second - that btw also had me super discouraged) ....... But then....
on Sunday, which is supposed to be the REST DAY I decided to do the P90X Yoga DVD and it happened...:noway:
Totally pulled my muscle (left lat /back) -sudden sharp pain -couldn't move > didn't work out, stayed in bed pretty much for the last 2 days with ice packs and BINGED ! :(

Now I really reaaaally don't want to go the circular motion again and gain the weight i had lost all back and start the program over ...
what do i do?
My back still hurts when moving in certain directions (twisting torso, rowing movement etc.) but I can't not work out and start over ! it's such a dilemma. Sooo i decided - F IT !
I'm thinking, either jump back into it by doing Wednesdays workout later (despite the pain) OR even catch up on all the missed workouts and do 4 workouts tonight ?!

Ughhhh... HELP!

I hurt my wrist during Recovery week and was told two different suggestions:

    1) to modify the moves where I had to use my injured wrist
    2) to wait until it healed and pick back up where I left

However I did modify during Recovery week doing low planks instead of pushups, etc. And thank god my wrist was better before Month 2 started.

If you want the most out of your workouts, I suggest you resting your injury and do some other type of exercise and re-start Insanity when you're healed.

Don't do it, pls. I stretched shoulder muscle at fit test because warmup was to short for me - I was quite fit before I started Insanity. Luckily it wasn't so bad I would be forced to quit but there was slight pain till the end of second month.
Exercise will make injury worse. MUCH worse! Take your time to heal.

P.S. Don't weight yourself till second month. I gained 6 lbs during first 10-14 days. Intense workout is great stress for body so it starts holding water until it figures this is how it's going to be! :)

P.S.S. If you have enough strength for running and 30ds, you are not doing Insanity properly. It should exhaust you to the limit. Besides, you are burning calories up to 24 hours after workout.

If your back is still hurting after three days or whatever you said I would see the doctor and definitely not do anymore workouts. WHEN YOU ARE MEDICALLY CLEARED to begin working out again then it is up to you. you can pick up where you left off OR start from the beginning. most important, Don't workout without being cleared, you could make your back hurt worse and trust you don't want to have back problems for the rest of your life because of one incident where you didn't let yourself properly heal

Your doing a lot! I would suggest not doing it. You have to give your body time to heal.

Heal up. Impatience is how serious injuries happen. Stick to light exercise. Injuries are a warning that you've pushed too hard. Keep pushing, and you can risk real damage.

first, i think i figured out how you injured yourself. you probably went way too hard, way to fast.

i don't think its a good idea to do insanity and 30 day shred/run every day. and on a rest day you do a power yoga class??

and seriously, who in their right mind thinks they need to make up four days of working out by doing FOUR WORK OUTS IN ONE DAY??? this isn't cramming for an exam!!!!!!!!

look, when you get injured, the best thing to do is to nurse the injury with a couple of days off. you're not some pro triathlete with a race on sunday. you are just working out, and you just started two weeks ago. you need to learn to pace yourself.

No, just no. SOOOOOO many issues here.

1 - You are going to continue to hurt yourself doing what you are doing right now.

2 - Weightloss is more about what you are eating and less about how much exercise you are getting.

3 - Binging is about self control not injury or exercise.

4 - Doing 4 Insanity workouts in 1 day is single handedly the most self destructive thing I have ever heard.

Rest, Heal and pick up where you left off.
