Question About Pre-Workout Drinks

OK, so about a month ago or so I bought myself a pre-workout drink from my local Wal-Mart (Six Star Pre-workout Explosion). Initially, I noticed that I was burning more calories per my heart rate monitor when I used the pre-workout drink vs when I didn't. The caffeine definitely gave me a boost in energy & all was good.

Now, that it has been about a month or a little longer, I have been noticing my calories burned on my HRM are less (as in 50 - 100 calories) compared to before I started taking it. Could it be that my body got used to that pre-workout drink's caffeine?

That or your body is getting used to the workouts. Or you have lost weight so you need more intensity to burn more calories. Could be a number of things.

Well if you're not feeling the PWO, then you've probably built up a tolerance to caffeine and other stims. Take 2 weeks off any caffeine.

I agree that your body's probably gotten used to the pre-workout. I only use the pre-work out if it's going to be a leg day or I know it's going to be a really hard workout.

    ETA leg, not late.

Good point, I think I will stop taking it for several weeks.
