Hi my nick name is Witchy and I have had CFS for the past 7 years. I have a 10 month old daughter called Eva and I am really struggling to get back into shape. Anybody else having a similar journey? Any advice?

    Hi

Sorry this has taken a while - but there again, I know you will understand when I say I don't have much energy ! (Actually I don't usually read the main MFP posts just the Swimmers group...)

I've had it for 2 years. Gradually getting better with graded excercise, pacing and more recently anxiety mgt...to calm my at times whirring mind which exhausts me I am sure. I am quite fit (worked up to swim 1k for example) but have developed this slowly and with set backs.

I am having a go at shedding some weight that has appeared over last year or so (I developed a good gluten free biscuit habit _ but my IBS has pretty much gone, so no more of those particular treats!). I will do this through calories in as I cannot do lots of additional calories out ofcourse.

Best find for me has been swimming (when my daughter in her classes at the start) - a very measurable and easy to keep gentle if that is what the day demands. I am thinking of trying yoga now too. And sleeping as much as possible - including regular day naps...I hope to start phasing these out now (managed on holiday, but no chores and no stress ...)

    Good luck
  • Yes am doing the same with the same diagnoses. Kinda struggling though at the moment. The doc just suggested the stone age diet from Dr.Myhill...similar to paleo I guess. Just not quite sure how to go about it. Add me if you like. I'd appreciate having some more friends on my page going through similar struggles as I am.
