Little rewards?

So I want to lose 50 lbs by mid-Feburary, and I am told to reward myself for whatever little goal I make and reach.
I've always been the type to jsut see the pic pciture and aim for that. :P
And that never really worked apparently.
So what goals and what rewards do you all give to yourselves?

Do what works for you. Probably not food rewards, but tbh I found the most motivating thing was progress and the health benefits. Look at peoples profiles and some people reward themselves with clothes, treats, holidays etc.0

The weight loss is reward enough for me! I am so delighted with every pound that no other thing could be more rewarding.
The reward thing wouldn't work for me. If I want a manicure, I can get one without losing five more pounds. I know that, so depriving myself of the manicure...just wouldn't do it for me. If I really wanted it, I'd go get it, lol.
It works for some people, though. Whatever floats your boat!0 -
It depends on the person! New outfit, manicure, going somewhere special... Like kalikel said, I just do those things anyway or cheap out and skip them! My new body is my reward, but it's up to you!
Small goals are definitely a good way to break up a big goal. At first, I set monthly weight loss goals (usually 5 pounds), then I switched to fitness goals with some goal weights in mind but they're less important now0 -
I gave myself a sticker on the calendar for every day that I met my goals. It's a silly reward, sure, but it also gave me a quick way to see if I was cheating too often or staying on track.0

I found if i made small goals and rewards they were much more do able and i stuck to them. Like right now i am need of a haircut....i told myself when i lose 5 lbs i will get the hair cut....
You could buy yourself a new gym outfit or running shoes......treat yourself to a mani/pedi
Also when i was trying to lose my weight....instead of focusing on omg i need to lose 70 lbs ( which seemed daunting)...i told myself i can lose 1 lb ...70 times...it worked.0 -
If you've used food as a reward in the past, be very, very cautious about doing so again since many of us have a tendency to overeat because we've "earned it."
Personally, I try to work something I really want but don't often eat into my weekly calories - something like a burger, fries & custard from a local shop, which is easily 1000 calories. I can make it fit, but really only once per week, so that was (and still is) a big motivator because the custard is SO worth it.
What also worked for me was planning to clear out my wardrobe once I reached my first major goal weight.
I got there a couple months ago and cleared out my closet in June. A good portion of my stuff is gone and I went out shopping a few times to get new tops as most of my bottoms fit alright with a belt. It felt so good to buy clothing in the new sizes!
Or reward yourself with other things, like manicures, pedicures, or what have you. I would recommend doing that as you reach certain weights, but don't tell yourself it has to be by a certain time. Slow and steady will get you there.

Not being fat was motivation enough for me.0

I do all sorts of things. Workout clothes are my favorites.0

When I reach my first milestone my reward is a west end musical(hopefully) and food wise I want fish and chips. I'm still gonna try to fit it into my daily calorie goal though.0

I don't do food rewards or things go south for me.
My birthday was a few days ago, and I wanted to wear a dress to dinner. I tried on about 7 dresses and, honestly, they all looked good. I thought I was going to cry from happiness. I only needed one, so I took what looked best. I needed a size smaller than normal. That feeling was such a reward in itself.
Other than that, I really love to buy smaller workout clothes. I've only done it once so far, since I still have about 25lb to lose and I know I'll likely lose another size. Still, though, buying a small shirt that has gradually gotten more and more loose is gratifying.0 -

Funny you mention Modcloth, I'm treating myself to a dress from there when I hit my goal weight0 -

I looove Modcloth, but it has to be a treat because unless it's a crazy sale, the dresses area little pricier than I like to pay.0 -

Just ordered from there last night for my cousin's wedding
I was planning on buying a new outfit once I hit the normal BMI range, but once I got there I was happy just to get there and didn't feel I needed the reward.
I am getting a tattoo I want when I reach my final goal weight.0 -
Since I've been stuck & unmotivated for a while, I've started putting a little sticker on the calendar every day
I exercise, whether at the gym or just riding to work. My failure or success stares me in the face.
Other rewards I've used:
new earbuds (makes the treadmill bearable, being able to listen to the TV)
cute socks in silly bright colors
clothes (kinda have to, as I shrink)
When I get 100 lb down, a friend is buying me a massage.
When I get to goal (which will be 110 lb down), I plan to buy several nice sets of lingere.
After a couple years, I hope to be able to afford surgeries to remove excess skin, maybe including a breast lift.
When I started out, I made a list (or chart, if you like that better) showing every 5 lb I will lose, every time I drop
1 BMI number, when I go from obese to overweight to normal, and as I hit those markers I write the date next
to them. It's incredibly motivating to be able to see my progress.
I also write my weight on the calendar every day (only record it here when I've lost).
Every month, on the top of the page, I remind myself where I started, where I was 01JAN this year, and what's my
lowest weight so far.

So, Kopp's or Culver's or someplace local?0
