Hey there...So this is not my first time at the rodeo but this is the first time these feelings have happened. I am in the second week and I am soooooo crabby and irritable and not sure if it is due to diet changes and increase in exercise. I am 5'7 and weigh 221.4 and lost 5 lbs in the first week (water weight) and I eat around 1500 to 1650 (recommended on this site) and I work out twice a day. Run in the morning (my hard workout for me) and then walk my dog at night about a 3-3.5mph pace. So I am hating feeling this way and just want to know if anyone else has experience this. Thanks in advance.

I'm basically always tetchy, so I can't say for sure whether eating less exacerbated it.

Do you feel hungry? How are you using your calories? (Enough protein & fats?) How long are your runs and walks?

From the info you gave, it doesn't seem like 1500 - 1650 calories would be enough (at least for me). I'm thinking 1700 - 1800 could be more appropriate. Have you tried this calculator? http://iifym.com/iifym-calculator/

You eating low carb? You a male or female? Obviously your more prone to mood swings if you are a female on a diet lol I'm serious though.

When I'm on my low carb days my best advice is to stay the F' away. I cycle my carbs and on my low day I'm eating under 50gz and it definitley has an effect on my mood. I'm also kinda foggy mentally, like I'll forget what Im doing when I'm doing it.

    Maybe eat more carbs...

typically no I do not feel hungry as I try and get protein in every meal but there are days where I am starving.... my run is anywhere between 2 to 3 miles so 28 to 35 minutes and my walks are 55 minutes long about3.55 miles at about 3.5 pace. just feeling on edge like I want to cry and it just spiked up since I've been working out and eating less. Just wondering if this is normal. I know its not hormone. Chemical imbalance as been tested for that (on meds for that and all is well in that world) they only thing that has changed is my food and exercise

Are you running and walking every day, 7 days a week? I think you should eat more. You're likely netting 1100 - 1200 after your exercise. That used to make me cranky... I would bump up to 1800 and see how you feel!
