I'm 47 and over the past 2 yrs have managed to lose 55 lbs. with 18 of that since January. I have been using MFP since January, joined a gym and have a personal trainer. I am menopausal and seem to have to fight three times harder for every pound. I do water aerobics 4-5 days a week and then usually another 2 hour workout on top of the water aerobics. I rarely if ever go over my calories, which are 1680 a day. Try to get my protein in and stay away from bad carbs.if anything, I have trouble eating all my calories. I do have a hypothyroid issue which I take .225 mcg of synthroid for. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! I am soooo frustrated!!!!!!

How tall are you and what is your current weight?
Congrats on all the weight you've lost thus far!
As you get closer to your goal, the loss per week slows down considerably. It is very important to tighten up your logging-weigh everything you eat and measure all caloric beverages.

How much are you losing per week at the moment?
Are you weighing and measuring your food and drinks?

I'm not currently losing anything, and yes I'm watching it pretty close. I'm averaging 1200-1400 cal a day over the weeks. Today had river running, similar to water aerobics, doing strength training and going to do about 30 min on cybex arc, similar to an elliptical.thanks again!!! I'm so frustrated, why keep putting the sweat equity in when there's no results!!!??? I don't want to give up, don't want.to set that example for 10 yr old son, and something has to break sometime right?

First thing I'd do is talk to the Dr. treating your thyroid issue to make sure you don't need your meds adjusted. If that's all good and you are sure you are in a deficit, then you may just have to wait it out. Menopause can play havoc with your hormones and cause a lot of water retention. You may still be losing fat and just can't see it because of the water weight.

Are you also taking measurements to see if you are losing inches?

But do you WEIGH your solids and measure your liquids??

ETA: I am also menopausal and 46 years old, I have lost 121 pounds had issues but until I started weighing ALL my solid foods and measure liquids. Now maintaining for almost 11 months now.

    ^^^This.

I'm 47 and have Hashimoto's (autoimmune thyroid disease). I lost the weight (and have kept it off) by learning to log everything I eat & drink accurately & honestly. Logging works.

I followed the advice in the Sexypants post: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1

I have been weighing most foods, especially proteins, not as worried about veggies, don't really drink much other than water and coffee. Found out my thyroid is low normal, going to ask Dr about adjusting meds a bit. Made appt with menopause specialist to look into hormone issues. Have to wonder too how much is water weight. I tend to retain water, a snack sized bag of chips will put at least 4-5 lbs of water on. Especially in summer. Also going to ask Dr about blood sugar, maybe checking it, since Dia eyes runs in the family. My fitness tracker shows an average of 3000 calories a day burned and most days if I eat 1500 I'm doing good. So also trying to make sure I get all my calories and protein in.

And yes, I've done the measurements and no change there either. Once school starts hopefully will be able to get back to a routine, getting g my workouts in every day and less days of having to cut it short for whatever reason.
