Hi thereee! I am a 20 year old female and I am almost 5 foot 3 tall.
In my senior year of high school I weighed 130 lbs. I have a fairly athletic build. I looked relatively thin.
My freshmen year of college I lost ten pounds just by tracking my calories.
But now, going into my junior year I am starting to gain the weight I lost back and it's making me so upset! Sometimes the scale will say I only weigh 120 lbs but most days it's 122-124 and I really don't want to gain more than this.
What's a simple and healthy way for me to lose 5 lbs and not gain any weight? I feel like I count my calories (1500) for a few days in a row and then just get lazy about it or give in to eating too much.
Only nice answers! <3

Hello fellow Michigander. Until you feel really good at 'eyeballing' what your portions should be, then it really is best to stay on it and log everything. You can do a game plan the day before and know what you'll eat and stick to it, but again, it means making a plan.

One day at a time. You can do it!
    Keep drinking your water too!

You can eat less (counting calories can be helpful with that), exercise more or both.

People always say that the last five or ten pounds are the hardest to lose. Makes sense to me. So, it might take a little while, but you'll get there. :)

you say some days 122-124 lbs
Those 2-4 pounds can be just water weight/fluctuations too
    Or TOM

It is normal that your weight fluctuate through the day.

So if you say some days and after that you are back to 120 lbs than you are not gaining weight, but you weight is normally going up and down through the days and pretty balanced

But that is how i read your post.

Now when it is up and you dont want to gain anymore, than it is not a matter of creating a deficit but maintaining it.
If you want to stay were you are you have to find your maintaining level...which still means your weight will go up and down a bit a few pounds.
Nobody stays exactly 120 pounds all the time.
So dont stress out over that.

Now when it slowly goes up and stays up and it becomes more and more than your gaining which means you eat to much. Shave off a 100 calories and look what happens over 2 to 3 weeks...Does the average stays the same are you gaining or losing.
When gaining after 2 to 3 weeks shave off another 100 and repeat

When not gaining but staying around the same ( it will go up and down a bit) but after 3 weeks you are about the same..hold your calories there a bit longer and look what happens You maybe found your maintenance level at that point.
To hold your weight there, keep eating the same amount of calories

From there it is easy to correct yourself to some less weight.
Shave off 250 calories a day for a half pound weight loss a week ( remember you are at a healthy weight it can take longer because of that, but also other factors can play a role)
When back to the desired weight..slowly up those 250 calories you shaved off to the original maintenance level.
