Thinking Fat

Ugh.
The mentality to just pick up a donut and eat it is so strong! I have been like this for 10 years and it's hard to pick up "Healthful Thinking".
You see, once I left college I was accustomed to eating anything and everything! Not that I did this before I was in college. I didn't even do this during my first few months. I really started when I met a boy and he said, "You don't eat!" At that point I thought, "I really don't!" It's not that I didn't, but I just didn't snack and eat junk. What followed was a pattern of eating that spiraled me into being almost 100 lbs heavier than I was when I met that boy. BTW: He is my hubby now.
I look back on those days and just wish I had a head for health. When you are 18 however you don't think about that kind of stuff. You just eat the waffles, Lucky Charms, chocolate milk, candy, chips and other stuff for dinner with your friends instead of the lean meat and veggies that are offered in the food line that "no on likes". I wish I had kept up with the standards that were set at home, but they didn't become my own standards of eating. Mom and Dad never had soda and junk food in the house. It was mostly because it cost too much though. As kids we were never told why we shouldn't eat junk. We just didn't eat it. Don't get me wrong. I had eaten junk food before, but it just wasn't a staple at home.
Yup. Nowadays I fight my "Fat Thinking". Reprogramming my mind to think of health instead of the instant gratification of eating is hard.
*sigh*
I've got a long way to go.
You all understand my struggle?
Any support would be great! I have 70 lbs to lose.
Wish me luck!

Oh man, it's like my life, even the "once I left college" part. I didn't think at all about what I ate, and man, could I eat like crazy. My favorites were microwave chimichangas and hash browns that were fried in so much oil that they were pretty much potato chips. It wasn't like my family was overly restrictive with eating, but we never had any of those frozen, instant meals in the house and I went quite overboard when I got on my own.0
