Need a plan to get into better shape in the next two months?

Hello, so I've been on a steady weight loss for a few months now and I'm looking to get into some sort of small exercise routine with two goals in mind...
1. I want to get into better shape to the point where walking up a small flight of stairs or running for even a minute doesn't have me gasping for air... what is this called? Endurance or whatever? I want a little bit more of that, nothing to crazy.
2. I also want to increase how much I can lift by a bit... like before, nothing crazy. I'm about to get on with a company where we travel to different states to do maintenance and installs for equipment, so it'd be nice to get at least something there...
So my plan was to start jogging at the park 3 days a week, and so some sort of small lifting routine to improve my lifting strength two days a week... between these two things, what should I be doing during them?
At the park should I jog a minute, walk two minutes, and slowly add more jog time? Do you suggest something different?
Would just some dunbells work for the strength improvement I'm looking for or is there something different I should do?
Thanks!

There's couch 2 5k for running and several beginner programs I'm waffling between starting strength and strong lifts currently to supplement mma training.0
