Am i on the right path?

Because i have no idea what to expect of the weightloss.

So about 3 weeks ago i changed my life, started kicking my alcohol addiction and have been eating and drinking clean.

In those 3 weeks i didnt cheat once, have been drinking water and tea only and have been eating healthy with no sweets, junkfood or any kinds of bad stuff.

For the first 2 weeks ive been doing cardio and this week i started weightlifting again combined with cardio on my off days.

Now usually i dont stand on a scale and use a tape measure to check progress but i was curious if i lost any weight at all for the hard work ive put in so far.

I find out i lost only 2kg (4,4lbs) is this good, bad or what? Feels kinda slow to me tbh but then again my buddy at the gym says its healthy progress and i shouldt be that worried and just stick with it.

So for the more knowledgeable people, am i on the right path?

Normally i dont fill in what i eat but did so today so i can see a bit what i take in, feel free to check.

Your buddy is right. It's a healthy progress. You may even have lost more which is masked by water retention from the new exercise. Just keep going.

You are doing fine! And you don't have to cut out anything, or eat or drink anything in particular to lose weight - and nothing you eat and drink can speed up or slow down weight loss, you just have to hit your calorie goal and do it consistently. What you may experience, though, is that some foods make it harder and some foods make it easier, to stay within your calorie goal.

I do drink Alot of water nowadays, about 4 liter a day incl. a few cups of tea.
Was craving so bad for soda's last week but this week is actually pretty good, rarely have cravings.

I dont agree completely with you, i find it better to cut out certain things as some things have better benificial effects than others.

And drinking water will help you lose fast than lets say diet coke :) if i dont drink enough water my liver wont be able to keep up the fatburning. ( i read somewhere today)

If you're quitting alcohol, I wouldn't worry so much about weight loss for the first 90 days or so. Do what you're doing, and focus on that. Don't try to have too many goals at once. Just my 2c.

    Where did you read that?

Both water and diet coke contain 0 calories. Neither will help or hinder your weight loss more or less than the other.

    I agree with @WBB55
that can be a hard task and overwhelming. no big changes.
also, eating clean is rather an ambiguous term. don't worry too much, just make sure you are getting your nutrition. feeling good will help with leaving the alcohol behind. imo, not ime

4.5 pounds in 3 weeks is a good rate of loss! Stick with it.

If it slows or stops, you can re-evaluate, but what you're doing is working. Keep on going!

Cant remember as i browse tons of websites a day but i doubt any diet drink is healthier than water, it might also have 0 cals but tons of bad things to find about diet soda and not so much about water.

The only thing I'll say is remember that "Just because it's on the internet...doesn't mean it's true."

"Healthier" - what does that even mean?

I say this as someone who never drinks soda (because I'm just not fond of it). There's virtually no difference between the two other than a bit of color and flavoring. And in amounts that any reasonable person would consume (a couple a day), there's no proven adverse health effects.

Yes, you are losing at a good rate.
When you log your food you get a better understanding of their calorie/nutrient count and this helps in the long run.
Later on it may get harder due to getting close to weight goal, so be prepared for that.
What some are saying is don't restrict to much, can cause a blow out of whatever you are restricting.

Great work and best of luck.

I dont drink soda's either, i only drunk em when i was still drinking alcohol and ofc, not everything on the internet is the truth, in that you are right but Alot of different websites explain why diet soda's are bad for you and they are backed with studies and i know still that doesnt mean its the truth but even so, thats all i meant.

Yeah that part about not believing what you read on the internet.

    That ESPECIALLY applies to authoritynutrition.com

Do yourself a favor: ignore everything you see on authoritynutrition.com. In fact, you can pretty much bet that whatever they say - the truth is the exact opposite. Their "science" is complete BS.

    1) That's not true, and 2) What in heaven's name does it even mean, and 3) Don't believe everything you read.
