So I have been doing GREAT with my weight loss so far, down 22 lbs in 6 weeks. I took the wife and daughter out for a few drinks and appetizers yesterday and my weight shot up 4 pounds over night. Yes I know the Beer is not good for me but I have been able to keep it in my diet and still lose LBS. I am back on the wagon today but what happened? any guesses?

My Diet is basicly:
I do Lean cuisine meals with a veg side and egg whites with tomatoes then some fiber one.

Sounds like it was a combination of the beer & maybe a lot of salt in the appetizers making you hold onto some extra water. Just keep eating good & drinking plenty of water & you should notice those pounds drop off soon.

So you went out to eat, right? Did you still log? Take a look at your sodium intake yesterday compared to the previous days and I'll put money on it being much higher than usual. Higher sodium tends to mean your body hangs on to some extra water and that takes a few days to get flushed out.

Restaurants almost always use tons of salt in their food. The beer is only an issue if you're one of those people that gets the munchies and then goes on a salty food binge or whatever after having a few drinks. Otherwise, go for it!

The 4 pounds is water weight. It might take a while for it to come back down, but it'll go away :)

Water weight from sodium/carbs. Weight loss isn't linear, and it jump up and down all the time (be glad you aren't a woman who has to routinely deal with these increases every month!)

Wow! That was Fast. Yes, I just plugged in the log and Yes, the salt was 3 X times my normal. My cal for just that meal was more then my whole day ( two mdays actually) and I only had the Apps.

    THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!

    Water.

    Simple math; 4 pounds * (3500 calories/pound) = 14,000 calories.

Do you really think you could eat that much? And that's not talking into account any food you had already eaten or ate later or how many calories you burned during the day.
