Lifting buddies needed for encouragement and motivation :D

Options
Hi All!

My name is Ellie, I'm 37 years old.
I've gone down from 211lbs to 171lbs this week. That's 40lbs.
I would like to start lifting weights.
Don't know much about it and would like to meet some lifting friends to get encouraged and motivated.

I'm from UK. Came back to MFP after a few weeks absence.
I'll be logging every day and my diary will be open.

Thank you x

I have a daily accountability thread that's ran since I've started here.

Hi Ellie, I'm 36 and currently weigh 149lbs. I am trying to lose 16lbs and for the past week have started HIIT and strength training with weights.. I'm still really new to this and still learning but feel free to add me if you like

I'm pretty sure 40 lbs in a week is a typo?

Have you found a lifting program yet?
Some of the recommended beginners programs are:
-stronglifts 5x5 or the ICF 5x5 adaption
-new rules of lifting (for women)
    - Strong curves
    - starting strength

    Good luck and have fun.

Ooops, yes it's a typo

it took about 2 years lol

I started Jamie Eason program on bodybuilding site.
It's 12 weeks Live Fit trainer - really good one
I will look into the programs you suggested.

Thank you AslSmile and gemmi33 friend request sent x

    Feel free to add me.
My new gym programme has me down to do weights 3 times a week, and as I want to tone up and gain some muscle I am really looking forward to it (this week I have been seriously stiff after exercising lol)
